Over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial planning industry has equipped Jerry Bateman to teach continuing education from a producer’s prospective. His “hands-on” experience has kept agents returning to his classes for over a decade.
Education and Professional Designations
Jerry Bateman graduated from Auburn University in 1972 with Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. His interest in helping others soon led him into the financial services industry and his drive for success motivated him to further his education. His professional designations include:
- 2003 – Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College
- 1991 – Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College
- 1989 – Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation from the National Association of Health Underwriters
- 1984 – Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation from the Life Underwriters Training Council and the National Association of Life Underwriters
Professional Experience
Jerry Bateman’s insurance experience began in 1975 with Combined Insurance Company of America. He soon went to work for Liberty National Life where he served as a sales manager until April of 1981. From here he became an independent insurance agent specializing in employee benefits, retirement planning, business and family insurance planning. In 1984 he became licensed to sell property and casualty insurance in the state of Florida.
In 1986 Jerry Bateman joined the Employers Health Insurance Company as a District Sales Director in the Houston Regional Sales Office. He was promoted to Regional Sales Director for that office in May 1987. In December of 1988 he was transferred to the Atlanta Regional Sales Office as the Regional Sales Director. In 1990, Jerry was transferred to New Orleans to build a regional sales office for Louisiana and in August of 1992 was sent to Orlando to build a regional sales office for Florida.
In 1996, Jerry Bateman founded Financial Coaching, Inc., a company dedicated to providing insurance and financial planning services for individuals and businesses.
Teaching Experience
Since the “mid-90’s”, Jerry has been teaching continuing education for insurance and financial advisors through the Florida Insurance School - CE, Inc., Seminole Community College, Lake-Sumter Community College, and Valencia Community College.
